Brittany
+ Greg
The Story
While Brittany and Greg were in the middle of planning a wedding here in St. Louis, they decided to make just a smaaall pivot for a destination wedding in Holbox, Mexico. We were there for it. And so, after a 6 hour flight, 2 hour - very high speed - taxi ride, and a 20 minute ferry ride, we landed on the beautiful island of Holbox where we then, of course - because this is the most laid back island ever - took a golf cart taxi to our stay. We decided to extend our stay on the island around their wedding, and we are so glad we did because just after a few days together, we made some pretty great, life long, friends.
Brittany and Greg are quite possibly two of the kindest soles. They, along with their family and friends, effortlessly made us feel included in their wedding event way beyond just being their filmmakers. This instant connection made capturing their day a dream, and created memories we will hold forever. We hung out on the beach together, drank tasty cocktails, even ate Holbox’s famous cricket pizza, all while of course finding time to film them getting married.
Their ceremony, which took place on a rooftop overlooking the ocean at sunset, included a beautifully powerful Mayan ritual, and personal vows. We then explored the island accompanied by the endless sounds of yelling and golf cart taxi horns from congratulating bystanders. Their reception took place at Luuma. Disco balls, some of the best food and drinks to date, and the perfect sandy dance floor. HO - LY - SH*T did this place come through. And to make things even better, and adorable, Brittany and Greg named their new dog Luuma.
To sum it all up, we couldn't be more thankful for Brittany and Greg. As we write this and reminisce, it is pretty crazy to think that after just one visit, this small island holds such a special place in our hearts. And it is all thanks to them for bringing us along for their wedding adventures. Trust us, we will definitely be going back to Holbox.
